The film, based on William Mastrosimone’s play, is supposed to be a story about how a young woman deals with her emotions after an attempted rape. Instead, Extremities is only a graphic look at a dehumanizing crime — a surfacy screen production which fails to develop themes or come to any realistic conclusions.
