What is Blue 92?
Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane is a two–part system consisting of a liquid rubber and reinforcing fabric. When cured, it forms a highly flexible membrane.
What is anti-fracture membrane?
An anti-fracture membrane is a layer of material that expands and contracts so movement in the concrete is not directly transferred to the tile and helps to keep cracks from forming and ruining your work.
How does crack isolation membrane work?
“Crack isolation membranes are designed to keep cracks that originate in the substrate from propagating up through the tile and grout. They do this by being ‘stretchy’ and dissipating the force from the crack into the membrane instead of allowing it to move up into the installation.

Do I need a crack isolation membrane?

Conversely, crack isolation membranes are not recommended over structural movement. No manufacturer will warrant its products over this type of movement.
How do I stop my tiles from cracking?
The only way to keep that movement from fracturing the tile is to separate the subfloor from the tile. Some contractors install ¼-inch-thick backer board and then lay the tile directly on top of it.

Are hairline cracks in grout normal?
While in most cases hairline cracks in grout are pretty normal, you should endeavor to repair these cracks as soon as you get a chance. If you see cracks but don’t feel them when you rub your finger on top, your grout is cracked but the sealant is fine. In this case, you don’t really have to do anything.
