What does CPU OPT fan do?
What does CPU OPT fan do?
CPU_FAN, standing for “CPU Fan”, is the main header used by the motherboard, and the BIOS and any other software (SpeedFan, HWMonitor, NZXT CAM, etc), to regulate and control the CPU’s thermals depending on the load by controlling the fan(s) speed (if you’re using some sort of splitter).
Can CPU fan go in OPT?
Can I Use CPU OPT for Case Fan? CPU fan header, CPU OPT, and SYS fan header, if all of them are 4 pin fan headers, the motherboard, and in turn the BIOS and the OS, can control the fans’ speed. therefore, theoretically, you can connect the case fan or one of the case fans to the CPU OPT without a problem.
How do I change my CPU fan to ignore ASUS BIOS?
In BIOS, go to the Fan control section not the monitoring section. The CPU fan headers should be listed – should show “CPU Q-FAN Control – Enabled or Disabled”, Enable that setting. Then you will see the setting below that is “CPU Fan Speed Low Limit”, set that to Ignore.
Is eatx12v a CPU power?
eatxpwr = 24 pin is essentially your Mobo power and eatx12v = 8 pin is essentially your CPU power. Some board have 2x 8 pin (2x eatx12v) and with this your CPU can draw more juice. But 1x 8pin must always be plug in (some high-end board require both 8pin ). So just plug both and ejoy your build.
Can you plug AIO pump into CPU fan?
Can you plug an AIO pump into a fan header? Yes. It will work perfectly fine.
Can you put a CPU fan on backwards?
No if both are pointed to expelling heat from the case you have it exactly right, assuming your front intake fan is pushing air into the case (seen people screw it up).
Is CPU fan intake or exhaust?
CPU fans are designed for exhaust, as they blow the hot air away from the CPU, but some dual fan CPUs have two fans, one as intake and one as exhaust. Cheers mate, hope this helps.
What causes CPU fan failure?
What Causes CPU Fan Errors? A CPU fan error on start-up is typically due to physical damage to the fan, incorrect settings, or external factors causing the computer to overheat and force the fan to run at unusually high speeds. Dust or other objects obstructing the device’s air vents can also cause CPU fan errors.
Is Eatx a CPU?
While some dual CPU socket motherboards have been implemented in ATX, the extra size of EATX makes it the typical form factor for dual socket systems, and with sockets that support four or eight memory channels, for single socket systems with a large number of memory slots.
Is the fan connected to the CPU opt header?
Last edited by Wallboy; 03-23-2015 at 01:00 PM . CPU_OPT is slaved to CPU_FAN. Whatever signal is sent to the fan connected to the CPU_FAN header will also apply to the fan connected to the CPU_OPT header. There is no need for a splitter for your configuration.
How is CPU opt slaved to CPU _ fan?
CPU_OPT is slaved to CPU_FAN. Whatever signal is sent to the fan connected to the CPU_FAN header will also apply to the fan connected to the CPU_OPT header. There is no need for a splitter for your configuration. Perfect! Thanks.
Is there a fan option in Asus AI Suite 3?
– Cooling – Linus Tech Tips Asus AI Suite 3 CPU opt fan option? Asus AI Suite 3 CPU opt fan option? We have some thoughts about folding laptops… The Steam Console is Real!
How many PWM fans do you need for CPU?
I think you need 4 pin PWM fans if you want to control them on the CPU headers. Separate headers, 1 in CPU_FAN and the other in CPU_OPT. Since the original post, now I don’t even get a fan speed reading from CPU_FAN, still running at full pelt though.
