Friendly Emergency Credit can be found on newer electricity meters. If you run out of credit between 5pm and 9am, it will be activated automatically. When you need to top up your credit, the meter won’t stop until 9am the next morning.
How does a smart meter work with SSE?
Smart meters replace your existing energy meter and send us regular meter readings automatically. Once you’ve had your smart kit installed, you’ll be able to see how much energy you’re using on a handheld device called an In-Home Display, or by logging into your SSE online account.
When do I need to call SSE to install my gas meter?
Your new gas supply has been installed. If you have your Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN), call us on 0345 026 1998 to discuss. We’re available to take your call Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.
