Pace (suburban bus) runs buses throughout the suburbs (routes 208 and above) and many routes connect with CTA. Major routes run daily through mid-evening, every 30 to 60 minutes. You can use your Ventra Card to ride. Pace connects with CTA and Metra in dozens of locations.

In downtown Chicago, Metra trains depart from Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station, Millennium Station and LaSalle Street Station.
Can you drink alcohol on the Chicago Metra?
Alcohol. During restricted times, no alcoholic beverages or glass bottles will be allowed on Metra trains. Passengers on trains found with alcohol may be removed or arrested. All bags carried into the train stations or onto the train will be subject to inspection by police personnel.
Do CTA buses take credit cards?
CTA patrons will simply “tap” their contactless credit, debit and bank cards or CTA-branded prepaid cards on a card reader to board trains and buses. Those without credit cards or debit cards will be able to purchase prepaid contactless cards at over 1,000 new locations, and cash fares will still be accepted on buses.

The new locations will bring their respective states to a total of three certified sites for Texas and four for Montana.

Can a child under 7 ride free on the CTA?
