How to use Dimple Dies
- Drill, laser cut or plasma cut the hole to be flared.
- Properly support the bottom die on your shop press.
- Load your drilled plate onto the bottom die.
- Place the top die onto the bottom die until it rests on the plate.
- Begin to press on the top die.

Typical dimple dies are okay up to around 3/16″ in steel or aluminum thickness. However, they’ll last longer and work better if you top out around 10 gauge steel (9/64″ thick) or 11 gauge steel (1/8″ thick).
