The IRA Charitable Rollover Provision Has Been Extended

In 2006, President Bush signed the Pension Protection Act to encourage Americans 70½ or older to make contributions to charitable organizations directly from their individual retirement accounts. In October 2008, the incentive for this age group to give, and receive the tax benefits of doing so, was extended through the end of 2009 as part of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act.

Prepared to Lead: US Army Major Curran Chidester

Over the last ten years the military career of US Army Major Curran Chidester (Mount Union) has been met with increasing leadership responsibilities. He has traveled all over the globe for military exercises and additional training and has led hundreds of men in security missions in Iraq. As he pursues his studies in order to eventually take on the duties of a staff officer, he finds himself reflecting on the place where leadership began for him: in Sigma Nu.
Mu Chapter Commanders' Dinner

Mu Chapter at The University of Georgia, Sigma Nu Fraternity's longest continuously active chapter, hosted an event for former Mu Commanders on December 15, 2008. With over fifty percent of Mu's living Commanders in attendance, their combined years of brotherhood exceeded 875.

The Sigma Nu Educational Foundation recently launched an exciting new web site showcasing the "Building Upon the Rock" capital campaign. The site features a stirring video challenging all Brothers to join in making the future of Sigma Nu as exciting and rich as its past.
Sigma Nu to Receive Prevention Excellence Award

The General Fraternity is pleased to announce that on March 9th, Sigma Nu will be named recipient of a Prevention Excellence Award from Outside the Classroom. Presented in conjunction with the 2009 Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) annual conference in Seattle, Wash., this award will recognize our continuing efforts to provide quality alcohol prevention and education programs to our members.
