SADLY, DUNSTER BY CANDLELIGHT 2021 HAS HAD TO BE CANCELLED. Although this is mainly and outside Event most of the shops in the village are small and not ideal for large numbers of people. As there is still so much uncertainty with the situation with Covid, the Committee decided not to go ahead this year.

Admission: There is an admission fee for Dunster castle. Either £11.40 for access to the castle and gardens or £8 for the gardens only. Admission for children is half price.

The 1996 TV series of Enid Blyton’s The Famous Five, was filmed at Dunster Castle, and the Cheddar Caves. It also featured the peaceful village of Bossington, well known for its charming cottages and picturesque walk to a pebbled beach.

Please book your tickets here by 3pm the day before you visit. Members can book for free, while non-members will need to pay when booking. Continuing through Church Street you come to the Church, where you will find carols being sung throughout the evening. Round the corner you come into West Street. Another entrance up to the Castle (not as steep). West Street has an old Chapel, a couple of pubs and lots of small cottages nestling into the Castle hillside.
